Mech dragon I made from the sculpt of the cane head combined with a greeble technique I have been exploring.

#Inktober

Trying out #Inktober for the first time.

  Here is a random drawing which will hopefully go from drawing -> zbrush sculpt -> bronze (or aluminum) casting.  Still trying to get a hang of the work flow.  A whole different sense of satisfaction when you can go from the computer screen to the palm of your hand.

 Here is the original sketch and the first zbrush pass next to it.  The wings may have to go since casting protruding parts is especially difficult.

Never was very happy with how that old jack in the box turned out.

Here is an update with a background and better lighting.  This time rendered in Maya / Mental Ray vs. just Zbrush.

Gallery Selfie

So, in the ten years I lived in Los Angeles, I took a LOT of photos . . . and a lot of those photos were of art. Sometimes I would see my reflection in the framed glass. That inspired me to make this "Gallery Selfie" out of some of the pics.

Full credit and inspiration goes out to all the artists out there who spend their days creating artwork like this.
